About the Role:

Remitly's North America team is at the core of our overall growth, using data and deep customer insights to guide our business strategy, product strategy, and provide insights to the regional business managers. Reporting to the VP of North America, the VP, Global Analytics will lead the vision, strategy and direction for the global Analytics function. You will architect a structure and analytics operating rhythm throughout the organization to inform OKRs, predict outcomes and alert leaders when intervention is needed. You will partner with the technology organization to develop overall analytics capabilities, build analytics functions, and identify high priority technology investments. You will lead a team responsible for full stack analytics, from data schemas and reporting, creating tools and techniques to promote continued growth. You will partner across the Customer Success, Marketing organization, Data Engineering teams, and our customer-facing product teams. This role can be performed in-person in Seattle or remote from within the United States.

The analytics teams operate in a matrixed environment, with team members directly embedded with partner teams across all multiple product lines and teams. This role also serves as a business leader outside of the North America business, partnering with other analytics leaders across Remitly to better understand our customers and identify broader trends, opportunities, and threats that we should react to.

You Will:

  • Own the strategy, vision and direction for the North America and global analytics teams, providing actionable, quantitative insights to improve decision-making
  • Extract long-term quantitative trends to inform product and business strategy
  • Own and improve the analytics craft both within your immediate team and across the organization
  • Establish guidelines for experimentation including A/B testing and using alternatives when a true control is not present
  • Stewardship of our product and business management data needs, overseeing requirements and construction in partnership with data engineering and product teams
  • Deeply understand customer pain points and market opportunities to recognize opportunities within all facets of growth
  • Own and scale A/B testing experimentation processes across the company
  • In coordination with data engineering, develop data stack strategy including analytical tools, BI systems, metrics/data governance, and model development

You Have:

  • 12+ years of experience in data/analytics/data science roles, with strong experience and track record building delightful consumer-facing experiences.
  • 5+ years as a leader of data/analytics/data science teams with a proven track record of identifying and developing talent
  • Familiar with SQL, R, Python, and statistical analysis with the ability to teach others
  • You can start from a white space problem and develop hypotheses, an analytical framework, and a well written recommendation
  • You are able to clearly communicate data-based decisions to individual contributors and leadership and defend your decision-making process
  • Experience with conversion funnels and running A/B tests to iterate on features
