About The Role:

Remitly is hiring an experienced, commercially minded Head of International Strategic Projects to lead cross-regional growth projects across the international business. This is a strategy and operations role, involving collaboration with multiple Remitly departments to plan, build, and execute complex initiatives such as organic / inorganic market expansion efforts or cross-functional global priorities. 

Within this role, you will serve as a member of the Remitly Europe Limited Board and have a reporting line to the Remitly Europe Ltd. Board of Directors. This role holds the PCF-1 and 8 function and therefore candidates must meet minimum requirements of Central Bank of Ireland fitness and probity rules and be subject to Central Bank of Ireland approval.

You will be based in the Republic of Ireland (either in our Cork office or remotely in the country). Some travel to London is expected. There will also be occasional travel to Remitly’s HQ in Seattle.


You Will:

  • Lead highly complex, cross-regional, cross-functional strategic projects. This will involve collaboration with multiple teams, such as analytics, product, marketing, or regional management
  • Build a strong understanding of the holistic Remitly business and influence the prioritisation of partner-teams’ roadmaps through structured business impact / customer centric frameworks
  • Oversee ongoing views about global Remitly customer trends and competition, identifying and deep-diving into problem areas where necessary
  • Closely interact with the Remitly Europe board and advise the board in relation to execution of strategies. Report and provide direction to facilitate the board in carrying out its governance functions
  • Liaise with key stakeholders, including the board, internal auditors, regulators, bankers and relevant industry associations
  • Ensure the organisation fulfils its legal, statutory and regulatory responsibilities
  • Work with senior stakeholders across the group including finance, compliance and other executives to ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are met.


You Have:

  • 6+ years of experience in strategy consulting, fintech, or consumer technology sectors
  • Exceptional problem solving skills and strong bias for action. Comfortable with both qualitative and quantitative analysis. Previous experience with data modelling
  • Strong business acumen and decision making skills
  • Ability to lead a cross-functional squad to deep dive into an ambiguous problem statement with a significant impact on the business, create structured frameworks, and help key stakeholders drive towards a business and customer-centric solution
  • Highly effective at cross-functional stakeholder management. Strong communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills
  • Desirable: An MBA or graduate degree in a quantitative discipline.
