About the Role:

The Global Money Movement team focuses on building and maintaining a software platform which is used by customer facing product lines to move money between our customers and their recipients across borders using connections with external partners. 

As a Software Development Engineer II you will build and maintain a platform to enable fast integration of new product lines with the existing Remitly ecosystem. You'll work closely with various stakeholders across different time zones, designing and implementing effective solutions with a strong focus on customer impact.

You will report directly to the Engineering Manager, based in Poland.

You Will: 

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and systems, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and efficient solutions.

  • Collaborate across teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, and develop solutions to meet business needs.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, technical specifications, and testing plans.

  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and industry trends.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, identifying root causes and implementing fixes.

  • Support the Money Movement Global team through a rotating on-call schedule 

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on languages such as Java/Kotlin or Golang.

  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including scripting languages and experience with cloud-based technologies.

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies, version control systems such as Git, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.

  • Experience with containerization using Docker, and orchestration using Kubernetes.

  • Experience with a non-relational / noSQL database.

  • Fluent English on B2 level or higher.
