About the Role:
You will be a Senior Software Engineer on the Lending Servicing team reporting to an Engineering Manager , building systems that support and power Remitly's growing suite of lending products. Lending is a newer product area at Remitly that has achieved product-market fit. It is now scaling to serve millions of customers, making this an exciting time to join and help shape the next phase of growth.
You will develop reliable, scalable services that manage critical lending workflows and sensitive financial data. You will work in a complex, stateful problem space where correctness, consistency and reliability are necessary . The systems you build will have impact on customers' financial lives.
You will operate with a high degree of technical ownership, partnering with product managers and engineers across teams to translate evolving product needs into durable technical solutions. As an early senior engineer on a fast-growing team, you will shape long-term architecture, engineering practices, and the evolution of systems that will scale with Remitly's lending products.
You Will:
- Lead the technical design and execution of multi-quarter projects
- Shape core domain models, APIs, and data contracts for a distributed loan management system
- Establish guarantees around data correctness, consistency, idempotency, and auditability in a distributed environment
- Design for failure by building observability, alerting, and operational tooling to quickly detect and resolve issues
- Provide technical leadership through design reviews, mentorship, and raising the engineering bar across the team
- Collaborate across geos to unlock new lending products while preserving platform stability and extensibility
You Have:
- A BS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
- 8+ years of backend services development and domain ownership
- Experience working directly with product and cross-team members to achieve outcomes
- Experience building and operating systems end to end.
- Proficiency in one or more languages like Java, Go or Kotlin
Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically zł320,000 – zł360,000. In Poland, Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan. Remitly Poland applies increased tax deductible costs (KUP) to remuneration earned by certain qualifying employees (to the extent an employee will be involved in the creation of the software as an "author") for the transfer of copyrights, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Personal Income Tax Act.
