About the Role:

Remitly's Marketing Analytics team is at the core of our overall growth, using data and deep customer insights to guide our marketing strategy, improve the effectiveness of our acquisition programs, and provide primary business intelligence to the Marketing team. Reporting to our Head of Marketing, the Director of Marketing Analytics will lead the vision, strategy and direction for the Marketing Analytics function, and with that, grow and improve our decision-making across Marketing. You will lead a team responsible for the full stack, from data schemas and reporting, creating tools and techniques to promote continued growth. You will partner across the Marketing organization, Data Engineering teams, and our customer-facing product teams. This role can be performed in-person in Seattle or remote from within the United States.

The team will operate in a matrixed environment, with team members directly embedded with partner teams across Marketing. This role also serves as a business leader outside of Marketing, partnering with other analytics leaders across Remitly to better understand our customers and identify broader trends, opportunities, and threats that we should react to.

You Will:

  • Own the strategy, vision and set the direction for the Marketing Analytics team
  • Optimize Remitly's large Marketing budget by using B2C marketing concepts such as LTV models, payback, attribution frameworks, and media mix modeling
  • Help connect the dots to highlight opportunities to continue growth, address upcoming challenges and stay ahead of the curve
  • Lead and mentor a team of analysts responsible for topics such as marketing data, digital optimizations, lifecycle, and offline
  • Establish guidelines for experimentation including A/B testing and using alternatives when a true control is not present
  • Stewardship of our marketing data needs, overseeing requirements and construction in partnership with data engineering and marketing platform teams
  • Gain knowledge of our diverse customer base to lead your team to recognize opportunities within all facets of growth

You Have:

  • 10+ years experience in data/analytics roles
  • Experience optimizing Marketing spend
  • You are familiar with SQL, R, Python, Excel, and statistical analysis with the ability to teach others
  • 3+ years people management experience
  • You can start from a white space problem and develop hypotheses, an analytical framework, and develop a well written recommendation
  • You are able to clearly communicate data-based decisions to individual contributors and leadership and defend your decision-making process
  • You are an empathetic partner who can collaborate with internal Marketing team members and analytics leaders across the organization
