About the Role:
As an Engineering Manager in the Referrals team, you’ll contribute to engineering strategy, improving recruiting and cultural practices, and overseeing diverse projects pointed towards acquiring new customers and retaining existing through targeted offers and incentives that enhance the remittance experience for millions of users.
In this role, you will guide the creation of excellent technical systems with minimal technical debt, be a partner who creates a welcoming team culture across the company and manage a team of 5 engineers while growing the careers of team members and shaping the engineering culture of Remitly as a whole. This position reports to the Engineering Manager based in Poland.
You Will:

Drive global expansion for our referral platform for multiple products

Manage business critical referral system and oversee the development of our referrals platform

Lead and grow a team of 5 engineers

Have a relationship and work arrangements with teams in the US that ensures transparency and autonomy

Travel to our Seattle office 1-2 times a year
You Have:
-
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree or experience.

5+ years of commercial experience in a software engineering role

2+ years in a technical leadership position

Experience leading technical teams in a data-driven way, with a customer-centric mindset

Experience defining and influencing technical designs and processes across a team
-
An understanding of software development practices to create a healthy system supporting business demand while being able to provide technical advice to the team
