About the Role:

The Vice President of Brand at Remitly is a senior marketing leader responsible for shaping and driving our brand strategy and creative expression across global markets. This role leads a multidisciplinary team and plays a critical part in strengthening brand equity, ensuring brand consistency, delivering high impact storytelling to drive long-term business growth, customer loyalty, and competitive differentiation. This role reports to the Chief Marketing Officer.

You Will:

  • Strategic Leadership & Collaboration

    • Serve as a core member of the Marketing Leadership Team, contributing to strategic planning, cross-functional alignment, and brand-led business growth.

    • Establish and communicate the Brand team’s charter, outlining its role, strategic priorities, and collaboration model across the organization.

    • Act as the senior advisor on brand strategy to executive leadership, helping shape positioning and direction at the highest levels.

    • Cultivate strong partnerships across Product, Corporate, Consumer Insights, and cross-functional teams to ensure brand consistency and relevance across all touchpoints.

  • Brand Strategy & Creative Excellence

    • Lead the development and execution of Remitly’s global brand strategy, including brand architecture, positioning, identity systems, and messaging frameworks.

    • Drive the creation of breakthrough creative that resonates globally, while aligning with our goals and customer insight.

    • Oversee relationships with external agencies and partners to deliver high-quality, timely, and cost-effective creative work.

    • Champion the use of data and insights—partnering with Research and Consumer Insights to inform brand direction and measure brand health.

  • Team Leadership & Operational Scale

    • Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing, multidisciplinary team across Brand Strategy, Creative, Project Management, Production, and Organic Content.

    • Set clear, measurable goals and execution plans that foster accountability and drive business impact.

    • Improve and scale creative processes and workflows to ensure speed, collaboration, and quality execution.

    • Embrace new tools and technologies—including AI—to enhance operational efficiency and creative scalability.

    • Manage and optimize the Brand team budget, ensuring thoughtful investment and strong ROI as the function scales.

You Have:

  • 15+ years of experience in brand strategy and creative leadership, with experience shaping compelling brand narratives for consumer-facing companies. Fintech experience is a plus.

  • 10+ years of team leadership experience, including cross-functional management across brand, creative, and organic content marketing.

  • Expertise evolving brand identity, including architecture, positioning, visual systems, tone of voice, and messaging.

  • Deep understanding of brand health metrics and the ability to translate insights into strategic brand initiatives.

  • Strong strategic planning skills, including goal-setting, roadmap development, and progress communication.

  • Experience managing agency relationships and ensuring your teams are delivering  high-impact work on time and within budget.

  • Passion for innovation, with a strong interest in leveraging AI and automation to improve team efficiency.

  • A customer-first mindset and strong curiosity for the market, competition, and product landscape.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $232,000 – $290,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
