About the Role:
The Growth Hacking team's mission is to accelerate customer and revenue growth across US and International markets. As a Software Development Engineer II, you will be part of a cross-functional squad focussed on identifying and executing high-ROI opportunities that drive new customer acquisition, increase revenue, and boost retention. You will rapidly prototype solutions to customer problems, run A/B tests, and iterate with speed—all while ensuring your work meets Remitly's platform standards and long-term product vision. You will work hybrid with 2-3 days onsite at our Seattle, WA headquarters.
You Will:
- Develop high-quality, reusable, and scalable code involving multiple technologies (React Native, TypeScript, Go, Java/Kotlin, AWS).
- Design and implement APIs to communicate between front-end and back-end systems.
- Develop prototypes rapidly to solve complex problems.
- Contribute to code reviews, sprint rituals, hiring, and mentoring.
- Contribute to the architecture and technical roadmap of our software systems, balancing short-term goals with long-term scalability and maintainability.
- Create clear and articulated plans for software implementation and testing.
- Report to the Engineering Manager of the team.
You Have:
- A BS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of software development experience.
- Must have 1+ year React or React Native development experience.
- Professional experience with one of the following programming languages: Typescript, JavaScript, Kotlin, Java, Go.
- Proficiency in an RDBMS like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure.
- Knowledge of basic architecture, systems design, and agile practices.
Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $136,000 – $170,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
