About the Role:

We're looking for a content designer (Content Designer 2) to join our team and contribute to our mission of enhancing the lives of immigrants and their families by offering the most reliable global financial services products. You'll report to the senior manager of product content within Remitly's product organization.

You'll evaluate customer journeys; design in-product flows; improve information architecture; and finesse in-product language. You'll ensure that Remitly's product content is crystal clear, meets customer needs, and is easy to localize. You'll also reflect Remitly's warm, customer-friendly voice and tone in your work.

As a member of the global product team, you'll help shape Remitly's customer experience, including new product offerings. This involves compassionately building relationships with a broad group of partners, including the product management, product design, UX research, brand, marketing, engineering, legal, compliance, and localization teams.

This is a hybrid role to support team collaboration. (You'll work from our Seattle office at least 50% of the time.)

You Will:

  • Create content designs for Remitly's diverse, international audience. Sweat the details over content messaging. Pinpoint the just-right words for the in-app experience, with a focus on creating the just-right voice and tone. Partner with product design to develop the just-right customer flow, identify the ideal design components, and create a smooth, low-friction UX.
  • Develop clear, engaging in-product content and notifications (email, SMS, push) that simplify financial concepts and promote trust and customer loyalty.
  • Collaborate with teams including product management, product design, UX research, brand, marketing, data analysis, legal, compliance, and engineering to create new features and products.
  • Use data, user research, and peer feedback to inform content design decision-making and improvements.
  • Partner with product teams on A/B experimentation to uncover content insights that improve content performance and product effectiveness.
  • Contribute to and help refine our growing design and content systems.
  • Present your work and your content thinking to peers and leaders throughout the company.
  • Ensure content aligns is clear, as concise as possible, accessible, on-brand, on-tone, and easy to localize. At the same time, you know when to make exceptions and bend the guidelines to best meet the needs of the customer.

You Have:

  • At least 3 years of content design or relevant UX writing experience.
  • A bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, user experience, human-computer interaction, or equivalent experience.
  • A UX content design portfolio that showcases your content design toolkit and storytelling skills. In-product, mobile experiences are preferable. We're also interested in seeing when projects didn't go as planned and how you managed and learned from that experience.
  • Experience designing and shipping end-to-end products with complex flows, multiple scenarios, and edge cases.
  • Familiarity with design tools, especially Figma.
  • Familiarity with strategic content design tools such as content quality audits, gap analyses, empathy maps, hierarchy guidelines, messaging frameworks, and voice-and-tone frameworks.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $100,000 – $120,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
