About the Role:

The Global Money Movement team focuses on building and maintaining a software platform which is used by customer-facing product lines to move money between our customers and their recipients across borders using connections with external partners.

Krakow squads are focused specifically on storing financial information of our customers and moving money through using our broad partners network and expanding this network's credit and debit cards capabilities.

As a Software Development Engineer I, you'll work with your team to solve technical challenges like micro-service scaling, durable workflows, and working on a global team. You will report to the manager based in Kraków

You Will: 

  • Collaborate closely with various teams across different time zones

  • Work with teams (Product, Operations, and Customer Support) to deliver solutions that enhance customer experience.

  • Ensure reliability and scalability of customer money movements by improving system observability, performance, and fault tolerance.

  • Write functionally correct, well-tested code using at least one programming language, that meets project's specifications

  • Partner with other engineers to break work into smaller tasks and identify technical blockers.

  • Use your knowledge of data structures, design patterns and engineering best practices

  • Write technical specifications for components within scope of team's code and participating in design reviews

  • Use engineering tools, learn and accept constructive feedback from more experienced peers

  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and mentorship opportunities to accelerate your growth.
     

You Have:

  • A BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience

  • 1+ years of experience building backend services or consumer software applications

  • Experience with at least one modern programming language (ideally Java/Kotlin or Go)

  • Familiarity with data storage technologies and cloud services (Kubernetes, AWS)

  • Familiarity with CI/CD (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) and best practices for testing and deployment.

  • Experience with a non-relational / noSQL database

  • Understanding of software development practices, system design, software design patterns, and algorithms.

  • Good communication skills

  • Fluent English on B2 level or higher
