Principal Product Manager, Growth (GCC)
Category: Product
Job ID: R_106383
Job Type: Regular
Job Description:
At Remitly, we believe everyone deserves the freedom to access, move, and manage their money wherever life takes them. Since 2011, we’ve tirelessly delivered on our promise to customers sending money globally, providing secure, simple, and reliable ways to manage their money, ensuring true peace of mind. Whether it’s supporting loved ones back home, growing a business across continents, or pursuing new opportunities abroad, we’re not just here to move money— we’re here to move our global customers forward.
We’re looking for builders, reimaginers, and global thinkers who want to work at the intersection of technology, trust, and transformation. If that’s you and you’re ready to do the most meaningful work of your career—we invite you to join over 2,800 passionate Remitlians worldwide who are united by our vision to transform lives with trusted financial services that transcend borders.
About the Role:
We're looking for a Principal Product Manager to join our Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) team and own how Remitly wins across the region (Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman).
As a Principal Product Manager, you'll own the GCC growth charter end to end: setting the vision, strategy, and roadmap, securing buy in from regional and global leadership, and being accountable for company level OKRs. You'll lead as much through influence as through direct ownership, raising the bar on product craft and helping the team thoughtfully incorporate AI into how we work, learn, and build. You'll report to the General Manager and partner closely with regional business leaders, Compliance and Risk, and global Product, Engineering, Design, and Analytics teams.
This is a builder's role. We're looking for a hands-on product talent who embraces AI as a force multiplier across the product development lifecycle. The right candidate will leverage modern AI tools to accelerate customer research, ideation, prototyping, experimentation, and execution, while maintaining strong product judgment and a deep understanding of customer needs. You'll pair fintech expertise with a relentless growth mindset to attract new customers across the Gulf, convert them into active senders, and deepen their long term engagement and lifetime value.
You Will:
• Own the GCC growth strategy and roadmap. Develop a deep understanding of Gulf customers, market dynamics, competitive trends, and regulatory developments to define a high impact roadmap. You will be accountable for driving acquisition, activation, retention, and revenue outcomes across the region.
• Act as the regional product leader. Partner closely with business, compliance, risk, engineering, design, analytics, and operations leaders to identify growth opportunities, align priorities, and ensure successful execution. Influence decisions well beyond your direct area of ownership.
• Build deep customer and market expertise. Develop genuine empathy for migrant and expatriate senders, understanding their needs for trust, speed, transparency, affordability, and payout reliability. Use customer insights to identify opportunities and remove friction across the customer journey.
• Leverage AI to accelerate product development. Use modern AI tools to enhance customer research, discovery, experimentation, analysis, and product development. Help the organization identify opportunities where AI can improve customer experiences, increase operational efficiency, and accelerate learning.
• Prototype and validate ideas quickly. Use prototypes, AI assisted development tools, and rapid experimentation techniques to turn concepts into tangible experiences that teams and customers can evaluate. Reduce the time between idea generation and validated learning.
• Run a high velocity experimentation engine. Partner with engineering, analytics, and design to build, test, and iterate quickly. Design rigorous experiments, evaluate outcomes, and scale successful acquisition, activation, retention, and referral strategies.
• Navigate fintech complexity with confidence. Deliver innovative experiences while operating within highly regulated environments. Work effectively across KYC, AML, fraud, risk, payments, FX, and regulatory requirements, partnering closely with Compliance and Risk teams to enable growth responsibly.
• Partner with engineering on critical technical decisions. Translate business and customer problems into clear technical opportunities, evaluate tradeoffs, and influence architectural decisions that impact speed, scalability, resilience, and long term flexibility.
• Collaborate with design to create intuitive and culturally relevant experiences. Ensure products resonate with a multilingual, mobile first customer base while maintaining a high bar for usability and customer delight.
• Drive data informed decision making. Partner with analytics to define success metrics, evaluate business impact, identify opportunities, and guide investment decisions through a combination of quantitative analysis and customer insight.
• Raise the bar across the organization. Mentor product managers and cross functional partners, share best practices, and help shape how product management is practiced across the region and company.
• Communicate with clarity and influence. Align executives, cross functional teams, and external stakeholders around strategy, priorities, tradeoffs, and results.
You Have:
Must-haves
• 10+ years of product management experience — ideally in fintech, payments, or another regulated, high-trust consumer domain — with a track record of product-led growth across acquisition, retention, and revenue.
• A genuine builder. You prototype your own ideas. You're fluent with modern AI tools (e.g., agentic coding assistants and LLM-based prototyping, research, and analysis tools) and use them to move faster and validate sooner. You can show working prototypes, not just decks.
• Fintech depth. You understand money movement and the constraints that come with it — KYC/AML, fraud and risk, FX, and pay-in and payout rails — and the realities of building under financial regulation.
• Exceptional analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with hands-on experience in product analytics and experimentation / A/B testing tools (e.g., Statsig, Google Analytics, Amplitude, or Mixpanel) and comfort analyzing ambiguous data.
• A track record of setting product strategy, roadmapping, and prioritization at a scope and level of ambiguity consistent with a Principal / L4 PM — owning a product, suite of products, or company-level initiative end-to-end.
• A founder mindset and strong bias for action — you want to roll up your sleeves and drive impact from day one, and you're equally comfortable operating in the weeds and at 30,000 feet.
• A strategic, customer-obsessed mindset, with the ability to identify the highest-impact friction and define the bets that delight customers and compound growth.
• Experience improving acquisition and retention through growth loops and compelling product experiences that drive engagement and NPV.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to align engineering, design, data, and business partners around a shared, data-driven vision.
• End-to-end product ownership, from customer discovery and market research through go-to-market execution and iteration.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience building for the GCC or the broader MENA market, or for migrant, expat, or emerging-market consumers.
• Familiarity with the Gulf regulatory environment (SAMA, CBUAE) and the regional payments ecosystem.
• Arabic language skills, or experience shipping multilingual and localized products.
• Experience building or integrating AI/ML-powered product features in production.
