- Run formal due diligence on partners before onboarding to include AML/CFT program review, licensing checks, sanctions and PEP screening, adverse media, UBO identification, and financial-crime controls assessment.
- Own the due diligence model, including onsite/offsite inquiries into downstream networks, and hold partners accountable for the transparency of their downstream network.
- Run the periodic due diligence refresh program, the onsite/offsite visit cadence maintaining annual refresh cycle.
- Own daily sanctions and adverse-media screening operations across partner network.
- Participate in on-site engagements with key partners
- Report exposures and resiliency plans to senior leadership and governance.
- Escalate material partner events through the Issues Management framework.
- Represent Partner Oversight as a standing attendee at the Counterparty Risk Committee, and own the monthly Partner Tracker and Watchlist reporting to senior management and governance.
- Manage, coach, and grow the Partner Oversight team, and size the team and its tooling to the pace of network growth.
- Exercise independent judgment on partners.
- Look for opportunities to improve Partner Oversight processes and tooling as the network scales, and partner with Data and Engineering where automation would reduce risk or backlog.
You Have:
- 8+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, financial-crime compliance, third-party/vendor risk, or AML/sanctions roles, including due diligence on financial service providers, or banking counterparties.
- 3+ years of direct people-management experience, ideally leading a compliance, risk, or investigations team.
- Working fluency with sanctions and adverse-media screening tools (e.g., ComplyAdvantage or equivalent), UBO/beneficial-ownership analysis.
- Experience operating a due-diligence or risk program across multiple regulatory regimes and currencies, not only a single-market compliance function.
- A track record of presenting to senior management or a governance committee, and of writing clearly for a non-specialist executive audience.
- Bachelor's degree required; Masters Degree, MBA, or an equivalent preferred.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, often ambiguous environment, and confident making and defending independent risk decisions.
