About the Role:
The Analytics Engineering team at Remitly builds foundational data pipelines and models that power decision-making across the company. You will design dimensional models across multiple business domains, becoming an expert in how data originates and flows through Remitly's systems. Your experience will shape the engineering standards that govern how pipelines are built, tested, and maintained. You'll develop requirements and mart strategy in partnership with analytics, engineering, and product teams, ensuring our models meet their needs as Remitly evolves. You will report directly to the Manager of Analytics Engineering.
You will:

Design dimensional models across business domains, ensuring accurate reporting, informed decisions, and regulatory compliance

Promote agreement across partner teams on data definitions, requirements, and modeling approach before building, improving clarity and adoption downstream

Set standards for engineering quality by improving Trino query performance at scale, strengthening code maintainability, and establishing patterns that the broader team adopts

Develop data quality controls and monitoring that catch issues before they reach our partner teams

Evolve of existing models as Remitly scales into new corridors, products, and regulatory environments, advocating for change when current designs no longer serve the business
You have:

7+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related field

Expert SQL skills, including query optimization and the ability to interpret execution plans in a Trino environment

Deep experience designing and maintaining dimensional models (facts, dimensions, slowly changing dimensions) in a production Lakehouse

Fluency in a data programming language such as Scala or Python

Experience working in version-controlled codebases such as GitHub and standard pull request workflows

Familiarity with transformation frameworks such as dbt or sqlMesh

Experience partnering with engineering and analytics teams to define data requirements
Compensation Details
The starting base salary range for this position is typically $176,000–$220,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
